Vintage Valentine's Day Girl

Here's how I made this Vintage Valentine's Day Girl.

Valentine's Day Girl set on the inside cover of a Nook Case

1.  Print out two photos.  One regular and one in reverse.

2.  Cut out both pictures.

3.  Glue one picture to a piece of black card stock.

4.  Cut out the black card stock leaving a hairline edge around the picture.

5.  Glue the reverse picture to the other side making sure to line it up so it's centered on the card stock.

6.  Using Mod Podge "paint" one side of the picture and then while it's still wet, sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon/nutmeg mixture (grunge) on the image and then go over it again, while it's still wet with another layer of Mod Podge*.  Then again, while it's still wet, sprinkle just a touch of antique silver glitter over the image** and let it dry.  At this point I would let it dry overnight.

*You probably want to either put a little Mod Podge in another container while you are doing this because it will "dirty up" your container or if you're going to do this a lot, label your Mod Podge container with "grunge" so you can keep them separate.
**Important:  When you're covering your image with either grunge or glitter, pay close attention so that you don't cover up the face of the image otherwise you might leave some grunge mixture or glitter where you don't want it.  I've done this and it doesn't look good because it distorts the details of the face.

7.  Repeat #6 to the reverse side.

8.  Add a mini eyelet*** or punch a hole with a needle and reinforce the hole with a little Mod Podge for strength and hang your girl with a thread to match your home or fishing line.

***I don't think I would use a mini eyelet on the next picture this size because I think it's a little to large.  It takes away too much of her head.
